My dog has ear infection, what should I do?

We would recommend you take your dog to the vet. However, if you want to wait for the next day here are some tips you can do overnight to help. Use any basic ear wash liquid that you can buy from a pet store to flush out all the debris & insects.

For the future, we recommend that owners carry out a routine clean on their pet’s ears weekly. You can do this by gently using Mikki Ear Wipes to clean around the ear area (although do not poke them down inside the ear as this is dangerous and you may damage the ear drum).  This gentle cleaning of the outer ear area can help prevent a build up of wax, blockage & minimise ear odour.

Regular cleaning will help you notice anything unusual such as wax, debris, inflammation or an abnormal smell – which could be the sign of an infection. Ear infection often causes your pet to feel uncomfortable and could cause them to scratch their ears, whine or shake their head.
