Home » How to fit your Doodles Drying Robe

Not all dogs find it easy to have a coat or robe placed on them or around their heads, especially if they are not use to it. For Drying Robes there is even more danger involved as you are dealing with a wet and/or muddy dog – you will need to get them in the drying robe before they start shaking and spreading the dirt! Therefore, we encourage you to understand how to get your dog used to wearing a coat.

Before you even think about putting the coat on, start by laying it on the floor. This simple step allows your dog to sniff and explore this intriguing new item at their own pace. To make it even more enticing, sprinkle some of their favourite treats right on top of the coat! This will not only pique their interest but also create a positive association with the coat.
As they show curiosity and approach the robe, shower them with praise and encouragement! Celebrate each little step they take towards embracing this new accessory.

1 – Get the dog’s head through the sweater, leading them through the neck hole with a treat, if required. Make sure your dogs head is all the way through, including the ears.

2 – Put the first arm through the sweater’s opening followed by the second arm. Make sure the arms are all the way through, and your dog’s claws do not get caught on the coat sleeve.

3 – Pull the body of the coat down the length of the back.

4 – Put the first leg through the leg hole followed by the second leg. Again, make sure the leg is all the way through.

5 – Adjust the arms and legs of the coat over the arms and legs of your dogs to make sure they are covering as much of your dog’s body as you want.

6 – Stretch the back of the coat to make sure it fits all the way to the base of your dog’s tail.

7 – Enjoy wet and muddy walks with the Doodles Coat or super-quick drying after a bath with the Doodles Drying Robe now that your dog is all set with their new coat!
