Key features
For best results, use the Mikki Anti-Pull Harness in conjunction with the Mikki Clikka. Your dog needs to be trained not to pull and you should reward good behaviour (not pulling / walking to heel) with perfect timing by using the Clikka and some of your dogs favourite treats.
Before you begin, fit the harness according to the instructions so it is comfortable and secure.
Start by walking in a low distraction area such as your home or garden and when your dog begins to pull ahead, stop walking immediately. This causes the harness to tighten and exerts gentle pressure to counteract your dog's tendency to pull or lunge.
Encourage your dog to return to your side and then continue walking forwards. Praise your dog for walking nicely and continue training for 10-15 minutes. Train regularly to maximise improvements.
Once your dog is walking reliably without pulling, clip the lead onto both D-rings and continue your walk.
If your dog still pulls or lunges repeat the earlier stages.
When your dog can walk without pulling, remove the stop lines and walk with the lead attached to both D-rings.
Continue with the training programme until your dog can walk correctly with a collar and lead only. Remember - Romw wasn't built in a day, loose lead walking take lots of time and repetitions for your dog to learn and practice the control required to match your pace which maybe slower than their natural gait.
