Key features
Load the syringe with a small amount of water (to help your pet swallow) and place the pill in its claws.
Hold your pet's mouth open firmly and deposit the pill at the back of the throat by using the plunger. It may be necessary to hold your pet's jaws closed and rub the throat area to encourage swallowing.
Follow up with a tasty treat to reward your pet and make a good association with taking their medication.
Product Overview
A spoonful of sugar might help our medicine go down, but our pets can often be a bit more of a challenge.
If your pet is very tricky to handle, get someone else to help you. Restraining your pet while also trying to give him medication can sometimes feel impossible. So if you can, ask a friend or family member to hold your pet for you, so that you can concentrate fully on the task at hand.
This process is probably not the most enjoyable (for either of you) so reward your pet with their favourite treat after every pill, and do your best to keep both of you calm, no matter how frustrating the situation may get. If all else fails, ask your vet for further advice or to show you how they do it.
